“I am running the London Marathon 2018 at the end of April. I am trying to get as close to 3:30 as possible in memory of my Dada, who sadly passed away at the start of March. He was one of my biggest supporters when I used to run, so I want to support his love for animals and nature by running for the Jim Cronin charity.
He used to visit Monkey World with my Mama down in Dorset, and loved when there were documentaries about Monkey World, as they made him smile. As quoted by my Mama “The doctors didn’t do a very good job at fixing him, but the Monkeys always made him laugh” which is my main reason for wanting to run for this charity and raise awareness and money for them and for him.
At his funeral, instead of flowers we also asked for donations for Monkey World and the Jim Cronin Memorial Fund. I am hoping once the marathon is complete, our total collection combined with the funeral donations will be close to £700. This is something I am sure my Dada would have loved to have known as he always enjoyed the work you did with the charity.”
