The Jim Cronin Memorial Fund for Primate Welfare and Conservation

UK Registered Charity Number 1126939

Jim Cronin MBE sadly passed away on March 17, 2007. Jim founded Monkey World – Ape Rescue Centre in 1987 and he and his wife Dr Alison Cronin MBE established themselves as international experts in the rescue and rehabilitation of abused primates and the enforcement of international treaties aimed at protecting primates from illegal trade, exploitation and abuse.

In his loving memory, the Jim Cronin Memorial Fund has been established to continue Jim’s legacy and support primate welfare and conservation around the world.

The charity’s objectives are as follows:
•    To advance the education of the public in the conservation of non-human primates and in all other matters concerning them, in particular – but not exclusively – through the construction and maintenance of an education centre.
•    To relieve the suffering of non-human primates which are in need of care and attention and  in particular to rescue and provide care and treatment for such non-human primates that are unwanted, abandoned, neglected or ill-treated.
